The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 247 calls for service between Jan. 30 and Feb. 5, among them the following:
Jan. 30
Aid call: 12:22 p.m., (Pacific). After firefighters treated a senior citizen who’d been involved in a minor, low-speed accident, she said her sister would drive her home and declined further care.
Jan. 31
Aid call: 4:57 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters evaluated a young man who’d been found lying next to a road, treated him for hypothermia, and a private ambulance zipped him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).
Feb. 1
Aid call: 3:50 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters helped an Auburn senior citizen who had fallen and was exhibiting stroke-like symptoms, and a private ambulance transported her to MAMC for further evaluation.
Feb. 2
Aid call: 10:03 a.m., (Auburn). While a middle-aged man in the custody of the Auburn Police Department was complaining of confusion, firefighters evaluated him then left him in police care.
Feb. 3
Aid call: 9:15 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters helped a middle-aged man who was complaining of multiple abrasions and shoulder pain after he had jumped over a bridge to avoid a vehicle and fallen 63 feet. A VRFA aid unit transported the man to MAMC.
Feb. 4
Accident: 9:35 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters joined multiple surrounding police agencies responding to a Pacific Police-involved accident at the conclusion of a high-speed chase at 3rd Avenue Southeast and West Valley Highway in Pacific. The police officer sustained minor injuries, and firefighters transported him to MAMC for follow-up treatment. The other driver, a young woman, was not hurt.
Feb. 5
Accident: 7 p.m., (Auburn). Having arrived at the scene of a two-car accident, firefighters found the vehicles with moderate front-end damage, two occupants out of the vehicles and two children still secured in the back seat of one of the vehicles. Nobody was hurt.
