Jan. 9

Aid call: 12:34 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters treated a woman who had fainted, and a private ambulance transported her to St. Joseph’s hospital in Tacoma.

Jan. 10

Aid call: 1:21 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters evaluated and treated an elderly person who had fainted in the 300 block of Tacoma Boulevard, and a private ambulance transported him or her to St. Claire Hospital in stable condition

Jan. 11

Garage fire: 2:12 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responded to a garage fire in the 2100 block of M Street Southeast. Finding a fully-involved, detached garage, the first firefighters on scene applied water and snuffed the fire. The garage was destroyed, and the contents, including a non-working “project” car, sustained significant damage. Nobody was hurt, and investigators got busy trying to determine what had started the fire.

Jan. 12

Aid call: 12:40 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters responded to a boy choking at an undisclosed school, but teachers on site were able to dislodge the items with abdominal thrusts before firefighters got there. Firefighters evaluated the kid and his family transported him to the hospital.

Aid call: 6:31 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters helped a woman complaining of general weakness, and a private ambulance transported her to Auburn Regional Medical Center (ARMC).

Jan. 14

Aid call: 3:30 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters helped a woman complaining of chest pain and determined the pain was not related to her heart. Firefighters treated the woman on scene, and a private ambulance transported her to a local hospital.

Jan. 15

Aid call: 8:02 a.m., (South Auburn). Firefighters responded to an older woman struggling to breath and treated her for pneumonia-type symptoms. A private ambulance transported her in stable condition to Valley Medical Center.
