The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 170 calls for service between Nov. 11 and 17, among them the following:

Nov. 11

Aid call: 12:06 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters evaluated a man who was dizzy and suffering from a headache before a private ambulance hustled the man off to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

Nov. 12

Natural gas leak: 12:45 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a gas leak at the 2300 block of West Valley Highway North found a wall meter broken off by falling debris. Firefighters evacuated the building until Puget Sound Energy could secure the gas leak and repair the meter. Nobody was hurt.

Nov. 13

Aid call: 7:15 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters and King County Medics treated an Auburn senior struggling to catch her breath, and then a private ambulance motored her to MAMC in stable condition.

Nov. 14

Aid call: 11:10 a.m., (Auburn). Once firefighters and King County Medics responding to an older woman complaining of chest pain and shortness of breath determined her sufferings were not heart related, a private ambulance drove her to MAMC for further care.

Nov. 15

Aid call: 12:15 p.m., (Pacific). After firefighters helped a woman complaining of high blood pressure, a private ambulance transported her in stable condition to MAMC.

Nov. 16

Aid call: 7:32 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters responded to the 6600 block of Francis Ave Southeast to help a man in the throes of severe kidney pain. Firefighters performed an exam and took vitals, and then a private ambulance drove the man to MAMC.

Nov. 17

Aid call: 5:03 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters evaluated a man suffering from flu-like symptoms, and then a private ambulance transported him to an area hospital.
