VRFA fire and rescue blotter | Nov. 23

The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 238 calls for service between Nov. 12 and 19, among them the following:

Nov. 12

Aid call: 4:08 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters treated a senior citizen who had fallen and hit his head on concrete, and his daughter transported him to Valley Medical Center.

Nov. 13

Aid call: 10:35 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medics treated a teenage girl who had imbibed too much alcohol and passed out on the White River Trail, and King County Medic One transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

Nov. 14

Aid call: 9:07 a.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters helped an older gentleman who was complaining of shortness of breath, and a private ambulance transported him to MAMC for further evaluation.

Nov. 15

Unknown fire: 1:50 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to smoke visible from Highway 18 and finding fire in a homeless encampment quickly snuffed out the flames. There was no property damage from the fire. The cause was undetermined.

Nov. 16

Illegal burn: 9:30 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters called to the 200 block of 3rd Southwest for a smoke investigation found a resident burning trash in his backyard. Firefighters schooled the errant resident on how to conduct a backyard burn, and he killed the fire.

Nov. 17

Aid call: 9:53 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters evaluated a woman who was complaining of a raging tooth infection, and a private automobile transported her to MAMC.

Nov.19

Aid call: 2:41 a.m., (South Auburn). Responding to an unconscious, unresponsive older man, firefighters and King County Medics performed successful CPR, and King County Medic One transported him to MAMC.
