Between Oct. 29 and Nov. 4, the Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 264 requests for service, among them the following:
Oct. 29
Automatic fire alarm: 8:20 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters hustling to a residence where smoke detectors were keening discovered that steam venting into the home from a dryer had set off the smoke detectors. Firefighters helped the homeowner hook up the dryer’s exhaust pipe.
Oct. 30
Accident: 5:52 p.m., (south Auburn). Firefighters responded to a two-car accident involving a woman and a middle-aged man, which ended with their transportation via private ambulance to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC) for treatment of minor injuries.
Oct. 31
Hay truck roll over: 11:52 a.m., (Auburn). Auburn Police asked firefighters to wash the road at Auburn Way South and Highway 18 of the remnants of an earlier hay-truck rollover.
Nov. 1
Accident: (Auburn) 8:03 a.m. Firefighters responding to a two-car accident in front of West Auburn High School and finding moderate damage to both vehicles treated one woman on-scene. and a VRFA Aid Unit scooted her to MAMC.
Nov. 2
Accident: (Algona) 9:21 p.m. Firefighters and the Washington State Patrol responded to a two-car accident on north-bound Highway 167, where firefighters treated a young woman for minor injuries before a private ambulance zipped her off to MAMC.
Nov. 3
Car vs pedestrian: 2:28 p.m. Firefighters and King County Medics evaluated and treated at the scene a middle-aged man who’d been hit by a car on Highway 18, and medics transported him to Valley Medical Center.
Nov. 4
Aid call: 1:26 p.m., (Pacific). Medic One evaluated and firefighters treated at the scene a middle-aged woman who was complaining of chest pains, and a private ambulance transported her to MAMC.
