Sept. 1

Aid call: 9:20 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters treated on scene a woman who’d been complaining of abdominal pain and arranged for a private ambulance to drive her to Valley Medical Center in Renton.

Sept. 2

Aid call: 10:04 a.m., (Pacific). A man’s co-worker was swinging a hammer when it deflected and hit the man. Firefighters soon stabilized the injured man, and a private ambulance transported him to a local hospital.

Aid call: 1:20 p.m., (Algona) Firefighters treated a man who’d been complaining of abdominal pain, and a private ambulance transported him to St. Francis Hospital.

Sept. 4

Aid call: 11:16 a.m., (South Auburn). After firefighters had treated a possible seizure victim lying on a sidewalk, a private ambulance transported him to Enumclaw Hospital.

Sept. 5

Natural gas leak: 4:52 p.m., (Auburn). The reported stink of natural gas brought firefighters on the trot to the Auburn Public Library, where they nosed the air for themselves and confirmed that, yes indeed, the place smelled like rotten eggs. After firefighters had cleared the library for safety and called in Puget Sound Energy, they hung around to help.

Sept. 6

Overdose: 3 p.m., (Algona). Valley Com dispatched firefighters to help a man who had apparently gulped or guzzled a type of pill he’d known nothing about. After firefighters and King County Medics treated the man, they transported him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for additional evaluation and care.
