The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 158 calls for service between March 21 and March 27:
March 21
Aid call: 7:45 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responding to an elderly woman complaining of injuries from a fall treated and then transported her to Auburn Regional Medical Center (ARMC) for further care.
March 22
Aid call: 1:56 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to the intersection of Auburn Way South and Academy Drive Southeast for a report of a person hit by a car found an injured woman, bleeding in the road. Firefighters treated her, and a private ambulance whisked her off to ARMC for further evaluation and care.
March 23
Aid call: 2:21 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters helped a man who had partially amputated three of his fingers while operating a lawn mower. Firefighters bandaged the man’s wounds, and a private ambulance transported him to Valley Medical Center.
March 24
Aid call: 11:59 a.m., (Pacific). Valley Com dispatched firefighters to help a woman with severe abdominal pain resulting from surgery two days earlier. Firefighters examined her, and a private ambulance transported her to ARMC.
March 25
Downed wires: 11:51 a.m., (North Auburn). Valley Com dispatched firefighters to a report of downed wires near the 300 block of C Street Northwest. Firefighters found energized wires lying in the street; however, they saw no arcing or sparking. Firefighters isolated the wires from the public, shut down access on C Street Northwest and notified Puget Sound Energy, which soon restored power.
March 26
Aid call: 11:39 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters helped a man complaining of back pain, and a private ambulance transported him to ARMC.
March 27
Aid call: 10:06 a.m., (Lakeland Hills). Valley Com dispatched firefighters and King County Medics to a report of an overdose. Firefighters arrived to find the man or woman in a lethargic state. They examined the man or woman, and King County medics transported him or her to ARMC in stable condition.
Aid call: 1:30 p.m., (Pacific). Valley Com dispatched firefighters and King County Medics to bystander CPR at the Dairy Queen in Pacific. Personnel arrived and saw a man lying in the parking lot, talking with Pacific police officers. After determining that the man was stable, a private ambulance transported to ARMC for further evaluation.
