The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 200 calls for service between Aug. 2 and Aug. 8, among them the following:
Aug. 2
Aid call: 10:53 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters helped a man with extreme back pain then transported him to Auburn Regional Medical Center.
Aug. 3
Aid call: 4:46 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters responding to a Washington State Patrol request for evaluation of a woman in her car on southbound State Highway 167 ended up helping the woman with an anxiety episode before a private ambulance drove her to ARMC.
Aug. 4
Car vs. bicycle: 7:36 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters responding to the 30400 block of 122 Place Southeast for a report of a car-versus-bicycle accident and found a middle-aged cyclist on the ground with injuries. After providing spinal immobilization, firefighters transported the man to ARMC.
Aug. 5
Aid call: 1:20 a.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters responding to a report of an unresponsive man who had been drinking and found him passed out in a closet. Firefighters and King County Medics treated the man, and medics transported him to ARMC.
Aug. 6
Minor fire: 9:30 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a reported carpet fire in a home discovered that the culprit was an unattended cigarette and that occupants had already snuffed the fire. Firefighters checked for fire extension and ensured that the fire was out. The home owners did not have a working smoke detector, so firefighters installed two of them in the home.
Aug. 7
Aid call: 12:59 p.m. (Pacific). Firefighters responding to a report of a man who had fallen from his roof while using a pressure washer treated him for a leg fracture. A private ambulance transported him to ARMC.
Aug. 8
Vehicle rollover: 9:01 a.m. (Lea Hill). Firefighters responding to a reported SUV rollover found one person inside the overturned vehicle who required treatment. Firefighters extracted the person from the vehicle and transported said person to ARMC.
