The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 172 calls for service between Nov. 29 and Dec. 5, among them the following:
Nov. 29
Motor vehicle accident: 10:25 p.m., (Auburn). Two males were hurt after their car left the roadway and rolled over several times near the 30400 block of 132nd Avenue Southeast in Auburn. Firefighters and King County Medics treated the men at the scene after cutting them out of their vehicle. Both were transported in serious condition to Harborview Medical Center for further treatment, one by King County Medics and the other by Airlift Northwest.
Nov. 30
Aid call: 11:05 a.m., (Algona). Valley Com dispatched firefighters to an elderly man struggling to breathe. Firefighters treated the man and then a private ambulance transported him to Auburn Regional Medical Center.
Dec. 1
Aid call: 5:20 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters responded to a man suffering seizures, treated him with oxygen and left him on scene with his caregiver.
Dec. 2
Aid call: 9:26 a.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters responded to a man struggling to breathe and with chest pain, evaluated him and determined that he warranted further evaluation and treatment by King County Medics. Medics transported him to ARMC.
Dec. 3
Service call: 1:47 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters helped a man with his home oxygen machine, which had clogged filters and maintenance alarms sounding. Firefighters called the company and got instructions on how to clean the filters and get the machine running. The man made a maintenance service appointment.
Dec. 4
Vehicle fire: 1:14 p.m., (Auburn). Valley Com dispatched firefighters to an occupied school bus on fire. Firefighters arrived to find that passersby had busted the blaze with extinguishers and everybody was safe.
Dec. 5
Aid call: 7:13 p.m., (Auburn). Valley Com dispatched firefighters to a reported gunshot victim. While enroute, a vehicle in the oncoming lane pulled in front of responding fire units and stopped. Two males and one female exited the vehicle, one of the male subjects having sustained a gunshot wound to the face. Firefighters treated the man at the scene and then King County Medics transported him to Harborview Medical Center.
