Between Dec. 24 and 30, the Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 216 calls for service, among them the following:
Dec. 24
Aid call: 6:42 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters helped a man who was complaining of back pain move from his bed to a gurney, and a private ambulance transported him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).
Dec. 25
Garage fire: 10:24 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a small garage fire in the 100 block of 11th Avenue Southeast quickly extinguished the conflagration. No one was hurt.
Dec. 26
Car fire: 1:36 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters responding to a Cadillac Escalade ablaze along Southeast 312th Way used hand lines to put out the fire. The King County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the fire’s cause.
Dec. 27
Accident: 3:44 p.m., (South Auburn). Firefighters responding to a two-car accident evaluated one young man and left him with Auburn Police, and the friend of a second young man transported him to a local hospital with a possible broken wrist.
Dec. 28
Elevator rescue: 4:40 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a report of people stuck inside an elevator removed the trapped occupants and took the elevator out of service until a technician could make the needed repairs.
Dec. 29
Aid call: 12:37 a.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters and King County Medics examined an unconscious young man and finding him with burns to his face and airway, medics transported him to Harborview Medical Center.
Dec. 30
Aid call: 5:09 p.m., ( Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medics evaluated a senior citizen who was complaining of chest pain, and medics transported her to MAMC.
