March 14

Aid call: 8 a.m., (Algona). Valley Com dispatched firefighters to an ill man at the Boeing facility. Firefighters found the man light headed and short of breath. A private ambulance transported the man to Auburn Regional Medical Center (ARMC) for further evaluation.

March 15

Car accident: 11:54 a.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters responded to a three-car accident on SE 312th Street. A private ambulance transported two people to ARMC.

March 16

CPR: 6:02 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responded to a report of a woman vomiting. Finding the woman unresponsive, King County Medics and firefighters honored her written desire to not be resuscitated. Firefighters helped family members to handle the death.

March 17

Aid call: 3:13 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medics helped a woman complaining of chest pain and determined that she was suffering from muscular/skeletal pain. Firefighters transported the woman to ARMC in stable condition.

March 18

Aid call:  5:12 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters helped a patient suffering from anxiety and then a private ambulance transported him or her to Madigan Army Medical Hospital.

Sprinkler activation: 8:17 p.m., (Auburn). Valley Com dispatched firefighters to a fire alarm and sprinkler activation. Some residents at the Gentry Walk Apartments had been cooking with hot oil and accidentally ignited a fire. They tried to extinguish the hot oil fire in the sink with water, which caused a violent reaction, spreading the fire across the ceiling and tripping a sprinkler head. Firefighters found no extension of the fire into the ceiling or other areas of the unit. Aid 31 was called to the scene for one of the residents who had suffered a minor burn injury to the back of his or her hand. Firefighters released the scene to a maintenance person on location who had already lined up a water removal company.

March 20

CPR: 9:28 p.m., (Auburn). Valley Com dispatched firefighters to help a patient suffering from shortness of breath and chest pain. Firefighters found the patient unresponsive, with intermittent gasping respirations. Firefighters began CPR and additional fire units and King County Medics were added to the response. The patient regained a pulse, and King County Medics transported the person to ARMC in critical condition.
