The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 224 calls for service between Nov. 15 and Nov. 21, among them the following:
Nov. 15
Wind-related incidents: (VRFA service area). Beginning at 9 p.m. and extending overnight, firefighters responded to 45 incidents related to the windstorm. In addition to downed power lines and trees, firefighters also helped with minor structural damage, fire alarms and concerned senior citizens.
Nov. 16
Aid call: 1:06 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters helped a woman who had suffered a fall during a seizure, examining and treating her before a private ambulance carted her off to Auburn Regional Medical Center.
Nov. 17
Aid call: 3:26 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters responding to a report of a woman who had fallen down a flight of stairs found an elderly woman experiencing difficulty talking and breathing. A private ambulance transported the woman to ARMC with a suspected rib fracture.
Nov. 18
CPR: 4:30 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responded to a northwest Auburn home to help a man who had suffered a sudden cardiac arrest. Firefighters and King County Medics couldn’t revive the man, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Nov. 19
Aid call: 1 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a woman who had fallen while setting up her Christmas tree found that she had suffered an arm injury. Firefighters treated her at the scene, and a private ambulance transported her to ARMC.
Nov. 20
Aid call: 1:47 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters responding to an ill woman asked King County Medics to provide advanced treatment of respiratory problems. Medics transported her to ARMC for further evaluation and treatment.
Nov. 21
Aid call: 2:54 P.M., (Pacific). Firefighters helped a woman who had sustained a leg injury in a fall. After providing medical care and sending her to ARMC by private ambulance, firefighters secured the tarp on the roof of her shed.
