Sept. 20

Automatic fire alarm: 2:50 p.m., (Lea Hill). Valley Com dispatched firefighters to an automatic fire alarm at the Season’s Apartment/retail complex, where they found that a sprinkler system had already snuffed a small cooking fire. Firefighters helped the owner then called a company to recharge the sprinkler system.

Sept. 21

Aid call: (Auburn) On Tuesday, Sept. 21 at 11:22 a.m., firefighters and King County Medics responded for a man with a rapid heartbeat. Medics used IV medication to slow his heart rate to a normal level, which enabled him to stay at work.

Sept. 22

Car accident: 2:46 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters helped a woman trapped in her vehicle after a motor vehicle accident in the 4200 block of A Street Southeast. Firefighters cut the roof off the vehicle to remove the woman, then a private ambulance transported her to Auburn Regional Medical Center.

Sept. 25

Burn complaint: 12:05 p.m., (Auburn). Valley Com dispatched firefighters to an illegal burn. Engine 32 found a burn pile and discovered that the homeowner had been burning construction debris and brush. Firefighters schooled the homeowner on the proper rules regarding outdoor burning and provided information directing him or her to contact the local fire department for permit information.

Smoke investigation: 12:01 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters responding to a report of heavy black smoke on the west side of Highway 167 searched the area but couldn’t find any smoke.

Sept. 26

Aid call: 7 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters helped a woman complaining of chest pain, then a private ambulance motored her off to ARMC.

Aid call: 3:20 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters helped a pedestrian who had tripped and fallen on the sidewalk. After a full medical work up, firefighters decided= that the woman was stable and did not need further evaluation at a medical facility, so they drove her home.
