The White River Valley Museum invites area active and former military members to submit an entry of their military-inspired tattoos for the museum’s upcoming exhibit, SERVICE INK: Veterans’ Tattoos and Their Stories.
Deadline for submissions is April 1. Entries also can be submitted by spouses or widowers.

There also will be a workshop at Green River College on March 5 for any interested veteran who needs help submitting their entry. Workshop are in the Technology Center, Room on campus. Contact Tim Lovitt at 253-833-9111 ext. 2559 for more information on the workshop.
About the exhibit
SERVICE INK: Veterans’ Tattoos and Their Stories will honor veterans, provide a setting for appreciation and discussion, and celebrate the vigor and storytelling inherent in the art of tattooing. Images will be displayed in notebooks or on gallery walls June 24 through Nov. 15 and will coincide with Auburn’s 50th Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, Nov. 7.
The exhibit is organized with the assistance of the Green River College Office of Veterans Affairs, the Auburn VFW Post 1471 and American Legion, and the City of Auburn’s Veterans & Human Services Division.
About the museum
The White River Valley Museum creates an exciting and educational experience for visitors through a series of award-winning exhibits and programs on regional cultures, arts and history. The museum’s artifact collections focus on Puget Sound history, Northwest Native culture, Japanese immigration and the Northern Pacific Railway.
The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. On the first Thursday of each month the hours are extended from 6 to 8 p.m. It is at 918 H St. S.E. in Auburn. Regular admission is $5 adults, $2 seniors and children, children 2 years of age or younger are always free. Admission is free for everyone all day on the first Thursday and the third Sunday of every month.
