A 20-year-old woman who was shot near an Auburn church on Jan. 25 has been upgraded from critical to stable condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
According to the Auburn Police Department, it was not a random shooting, and the shooter is still at large.
“The suspect is outstanding and was known to the victim,” said Kolby Crossley, public information officer for the Auburn Police Department.
According to Police, just before 11:15 p.m., officers responded to a reported shooting near the 600 block of 8th Street Northeast in the vicinity of the Victory Fellowship Church.
When officers arrived, they found a woman who had been shot at least once. Auburn police said the woman was treated at the scene before being taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
A spokesperson for Harborview said the woman had been brought in to the intensive care unit in critical condition.
The name of the woman has not been released.
