47th District Republican House candidate Nancy Wyatt is feeling confident about the progress she has made the past few months as she seeks to unseat incumbent Geoff Simpson for House position 1.

Wyatt’s campaign has achieved key milestones in the number of people met, number of dollars raised and number of endorsements from key organizations, elected officials, opinion leaders and many people in the district.

Wyatt, president and chief operating officer of the Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce, is a Republican from Kent.

More than 6,500 doors knocked

“Doorbelling is a lot of work, but it is something I truly enjoy,” Wyatt said recently. “The No. 1 issue on the minds of people in the 47th District is job creation. Unemployment is at record levels and people are hurting. After talking with so many people looking for work, I know we need to simplify regulations and create incentives for small businesses to start hiring & growing again.” The Wyatt campaign is built on the premise of small business being the economic engine of our local economy.

More than $30,000 raised

The Wyatt campaign has raised this significant sum, from a combination of fundraising, local and state organizations, but most importantly, from the numerous small donors whom she has met and won over with her character, honesty, and approach to government. Wyatt’s pledge of working hard to represent the views of the citizens of the district, not special interests, seems to really resonate.

More than 150 endorsements gained

Wyatt’s endorsements are numerous, from Attorney General Rob McKenna, King County Councilmember Reagan Dunn, and Auburn Mayor Pete Lewis, to the Washington Retail Association and Association of Washington Business. They support Wyatt’s approach to job creation by lessening regulatory burdens and red tape and reforming how the state taxes small business owners across the 47th District. Over two-thirds of Wyatt’s endorsements are from local citizens who have really rallied behind her policies.
