Nancy Wyatt, the Kent Republican running for the 47th District House position 1, received the highest ranking of the three candidates, as released this week by the Municipal League of King County.
The league evaluates candidates on their community involvement, character, effectiveness and knowledge of the issues.
Wyatt, president and chief operating officer of the Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce, garnered a “Very Good” ranking from the non-partisan group. Her opponents, incumbent Geoff Simpson and Mark Hargrove, received rankings of “Adequate” and “Good,” respectively.
“This is another example of the momentum we’re building in this campaign,” Wyatt said of her rating. “I’m excited to be the top-ranked candidate in this race.
“When I talk to voters, they’re telling me about the need to add jobs and improve our economy. To do that, we need new leadership in Olympia focused on effectively fighting for new policies to lift us out of this recession,” Wyatt added. “My Municipal League ranking is just another way I can demonstrate to voters that I’m ready to go to work for them.”
