Alta passed away on July 31, 2022. She was born February 28, 1931, to Alice and Harold Healy in Seattle, Washington. Alta grew up in West Seattle. Her father operated a Boat House on Harbor Island and she enjoyed spending summers on the water. Alta took dance lessons and her class performed at theaters in downtown Seattle. Alta married James Schultz and had four children; Linda, Jeff, Scott and Greg.

She married Marvin Vaughn on June 12, 1965. The family then spent years on a small farm in Black Diamond, Washington. Alta loved gardening and at each house they owned she planted a large garden and landscaped the yard. She was a loving mother and wife. Alta always checked in on her children and neighbors to see how they were doing. She will dearly be missed by all who knew her.
