Athal K. Williams

Athal K. Williams, long-time resident of Kent, WA, died November 29, 2010. Born February 24, 1938, in Spindale, NC, son of Rev. and Mrs. O.B. Williams. He is survived by his daughter Kerstin Williams of Tacoma, son Mark Williams of Washington, D.C., their mother Gundi Williams of Tacoma, and by his brother Nyal Williams of Muncie, IN. Athal served 24 years in the US Air Force, retiring as a ranking Master Sgt. His second career was as a customs officer at SeaTac. Aviation remained a lifelong passion, as all his dear friends at Auburn Municipal Airport would testify. A military burial will take place at 10 am, December 10th, at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA. The memorial service will be on Saturday, December 11th, from 11 am to 3 pm, at the Museum of Flight’s View Lounge. RSVP to mwilliaus@yahoo.com
