Barbara Jean English, 72 passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, May 14, 2016, following a brave battle with cancer.

Barbara was born on February 5, 1944 in Lisbon, North Dakota to Frieda and Jerome Hansen. She grew up between North Dakota and Auburn, WA and graduated from Auburn High School in 1962. Barbara lived and worked in the Auburn area for most of her life.

Barbara enjoyed spending time with her life-long friends, playing Bingo, and spending time with her family. She was very independent, always on the go, and always had a smile on her face.

Barbara is survived by her mother Frieda Hansen of the family home in Auburn, her three sons, Jeffery Hirsch of Auburn, Kevin Hirsch of Federal Way, and Marc (wife Laura) Doble of Omaha, Nebraska. She was blessed with several grandchildren whom she loved to spend time with. She was also survived by her brother, Rodney (wife Elaine) Hansen of Fort Worth, Texas, and multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In memory of Barbara, any contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of the brave fight she fought.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Red Lotus Restaurant Banquet Hall, Auburn, WA.
