Dennis M. Shanda, 63, of Tacoma, WA died July 15, 2010. He went to be with our mother (Doris) his soul mate. He passed away at the UWMC surrounded by family. Dennis was buried at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery in Federal Way, WA right next to our mother on July 22, 2010.Dennis was born March 19, 1947 in Cloquet, MN. The son of Kenneth and Mildred Shanda.He is survived by his only brother Vincent Nicholas Shanda and his wife Nancy of Wrenshall, MN. Also survived by daughters Heather and her husband Scott Woods of Auburn, WA and Michelle Johannesen of Tacoma, WA; son Kenneth George Shanda and his wife Melissa of Kenosha, WI. His grandchildren are Jeffrey Glenn Edwards Jr. of Kent, WA, Danielle & Amanda Johannesen of Tacoma, WA and Liam Kenneth Shanda of Kenosha, WI and pseudo daughter Melissa Ann Glossen and pseudo grandchildren Kaylee Noelle and Tanner Austin Glossen of Grapeview, WA.Dennis served in the Air Force for 20+ years and worked at Boeing for another 20+ years and just retired in February 2010. He loved to play golf and was an exceptional dart player. Dennis was a man who would help anyone out before he would think of himself. He will be missed by many.
