Douglas McLeod Harlor
Douglas McLeod Harlor passed away in his home on February 4, 2014 at the age of 81 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Doug was born on October 26, 1932 in Columbus, Ohio to John and Inez Harlor. Early in life Doug developed a love for the outdoors. In 1947 he earned his Eagle Scout Award with Troop 166 and enjoyed spending his summers fishing and hiking.
He attended Bexley High School in Ohio where he made many life-long friendships. He later graduated from Colby College with a degree in Geology and was employed by the Weyerhaeuser Company for 34 years.
In his retirement he started his own successful lumber consulting business. Doug was a family man and a man of integrity and will be missed by many. Some of his most cherished memories outside of his family are his golfing partners and reunions with his childhood friends.
Doug leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Marianne; 3 sons, John (Janice), Jay and Jamie (Roxanne) along with his grandchildren Joey, Kristin, Nicole and Luke. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Inez and his twin brother John.
A celebration of Doug’s life will take place May 16th from 11:00 – 3:00 at the Auburn Golf Course. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Relay for Life of Bonney Lake – American Cancer Society – Team Creator CARES – Team Members: Janice and Nikki Harlor or charity of your choice.
