Drawing in Heaven

Eric was born in Auburn, Washington on July 20, 1967 and passed away at Harborview Medical Center on July 16, 2015 after a nineteen year battle with diabetes, kidney failure, broken bones and long hospital stays.

He was pre-deceased by his father Vern, niece Ashlee Mounts of Keizer, OR, nephew Derek Phifer of Auburn, his uncle Gary Mounts of Morton,WA, and mother in law Judy Phifer.

He is survived by his children Dillon and Dakota who were his pride and joy: his mother Carlene and brothers David (Cyndy) of Auburn and Steven (Hallie) of Keizer OR. Also, survived by his ex-wife and friend Brandi, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family, friends and neighbors.

His mother’s dog Shelby misses their morning coffee together.

He graduated from Auburn High School in 1984 and the Art Institute of Seattle in 1987 with an Associate Degree in Graphic Design. He worked for 15 plus years as a valued and personable employee at Spectrum Signs, where he was a screen printer and sign painter. He was also an accomplished tattoo artist until his eye-sight got too bad. He was always drawing even when he needed a magnifying glass to do it. He enjoyed putting model cars together and looked forward to the Texas hold’em card games. Loved watching the Mariners, Seahawks and Sounders. He was an avid NASCAR and UFC fan.

His family will be forever grateful to Pastor Jason Wakefield and his wife Angie for their loving care and compassion.

Eric was cremated and his service will be at the Bible Chapel at 2606 R St. SE in Auburn at 1:00PM, August 1, 2015. Reception to follow.
