Evelyn Catherine McElreath

Evelyn Catherine McElreath was born April 25, 1919 in Seattle, WA to parents Claire and Catherine Relyea. Evelyn passed away July 3, 2008 in Federal Way at the age of 89.She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Homer (“Jitterbug”). She has 2 children, Larry (Sue) of Spokane, and Linda Kellem (George) of Lake Havasu, AZ. Brother Jack Relyea of Seattle, deceased brother and sister-in-law, Stan Relyea (Helen), 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild and nephew Stan (Cheri) and his family of Mt Vernon, WA.Evelyn and Homer were married Nov. 24, 1938 in Sedro Woolley and spent many years before and after their marriage in the old railroad town of Lester, WA and the last 68 years of their lives in Auburn. They had many railroad friends, most who have passed on. Evelyn loved bowling, ceramics and camping with her family. She belonged to the Eastern Star and Ladies Society of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Engineers.A Committal Service will be held at Mt View Cemetery in Auburn, Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 10:00 AM.
