Gertrude Restis died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Oct 30, 2022. Trudy lived 96 years.

Born Nov 21, 1925 in Chicago. Trudy and her husband of 54 years Harold moved to Auburn to be with their family and grandchildren in 1992.

In her youth, Trudy enjoyed ballroom dancing which is where she met her husband. Trudy won the woman’s speed ice skating medal for Chicago. Trudy had a wonderful singing voice and volunteered to sing in her church choir and at weddings. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Trudy was strong in her Roman Catholic faith and a supporter of her parish’s, St. Beatrice in Schiller Park, St. Anthony’s in Kent and lastly St. John the Baptist in Covington.

She is survived by son Jude Restis (Linda) of Auburn; daughter Mary Restis Kirby of Vero Beach, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Jude, Lauren, and Kaitlyn.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday Nov 17 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Covington WA. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
