In Loving Memory
Mrs. Glenna Rae Milks
12/2/1938 – 8/8/2023
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mrs. Glenna Rae Milks, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, on 8/8/2023. She was a constant beacon of love, strength, and care throughout her 84 remarkable years.
Born in Columbia Heights, Washington State, she moved to College Place to attend college at Walla Walla College, where she met her husband of 60 years, Mr. Dick Donald Milks. Together they raised their daughters, Jennifer Lynn and Melissa Ann. In 1986, the family moved back to her hometown, Auburn where they have resided for the past 40 years.
Glenna served as an RN for almost 20 years at Valley Medical Center. Her pragmatic nature was a refreshing dose of reality for everyone around her. If you asked her about what she thought about any subject – she would tell you, without flowery words, just clear personal truth. That was who she was. Her legacy extends to her sister, Alice, grandson, Kiel, and step-sons, Ron, Loni, Carry (deceased). While her love of her family was unique, it was never in question how she felt about her family.
As we bid farewell, we draw comfort from the memories she gifted us.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at St. Francis and Multicare Auburn Multicare Hospitals, and Franciscan Hospice House, as well as the community of Auburn, Washington for the overwhelming support and love shown during these trying times.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Planned Parenthood of Western Washington in Glenna Rae Milks’ name.
Rest in eternal peace, Glenna. Your spirit lives on in the love you’ve left behind.
