Hamar B. Benson

Reverend Hamar Benson was born October 5, 1910. He grew up in Minnesota and graduated from Augsburg College Lutheran Seminary. He served as a chaplain in WWII and had parishes in North Dakota and Washington.Hamar died peacefully at home on the 27th of November, seven weeks after celebrating his 100th birthday hosted at Family of Grace Lutheran Church; attended by his family, neighbors and friends from Sons of Norway and Auburn Senior Center.He is survived by Wanda his wife of almost 50 years, 7 children, 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
