Ila M. (Miller) Wolder MacKean

Ila MacKean, beloved mother & aunt, passed away on October 11, 2010 in Quincy, IL. She was 86. Ila was preceded in death by her second husband, Roger MacKean of Auburn, WA and by her sister Martha Gray and brother Ernest Miller.

Ila was born May 21, 1924 in Wilcox, AZ to Charlie and Edna Miller. She and her first husband, Thomas A. Wolder Sr (who passed away on December 31, 1996 in Susanville, CA) were long time residents of Maple Valley, WA where they raised four children. She is survived by her son, Thomas A. Wolder Jr (Edie) of Long Lane, MO; by her daughters Barbara Moore (Abe) of Auburn, WA; Bonnie Bolton (Tim) of Nauvoo, IL; and Carol James (Steve) of Spokane, WA and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In 1974, a casualty of Boeing, Ila became Auburn School District’s first licensed lady boiler tender. She took great pride in keeping her schools in top condition for the children and staff. Her many friends were dear to her. After retiring, she spent time enjoying family and friends. Her oldest daughter, Barbara Moore and family lived nearby in Auburn. Ila later moved to Spokane, Washington to be near her youngest daughter, Carol James and family and son Tom Wolder and his wife. When her memory began to fail, her daughter Bonnie and husband Tim invited her to live with their family in Nauvoo, IL. She stayed with them until moving to nearby Montebello Health Care Center where she was residing when she passed away. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
