Jackie S. Kier
Jackie S. Kier died at home in Port Ludlow, WA on October 13, 2008. She was 55. She was born in Gastonia, NC to Lloyd Hollifield and Ruby Geraldine Lingerfelt. Jackie grew up at several U.S. Army bases in the United States, Okinawa, and Germany. In Germany, Jackie married and gave birth to two daughters, Sandra and Darlene. After divorcing her first husband, she met Wayne E. Kier. They married April 5, 1976 in Vancouver, WA. She, with Wayne, raised the four children in Auburn, WA. Jackie worked part-time until the kids grew up, and then worked full-time for The Home Depot until retirement in 2005. Jackie was a member of the Family of Grace Lutheran Church in Auburn. In 1997, Wayne and Jackie moved to Port Ludlow. Jackie adored books, working crossword puzzles and growing flowers. She was passionate about the Mariners and NASCAR. Jackie held a special place in her heart for military personnel. Jackie’s special interests included: travel, fine dining and cooking. Jackie loved nature and animals. But her real passion was family. During nearly 33 years of marriage, Wayne and Jackie’s story remained one of true devotion and caring for one another. Survivors include her husband Wayne E. Kier Sr.; sons Korey D. Kier and daughter-in-law Debbie Kier, Wayne E. Kier Jr. and daughter-in-law Michelle Beaudine; daughters Sandra Smith and son-in-law Shane Smith, Darlene (Rainy) Swanson and son-in-law Erik Swanson; brothers Danny Hollifield and Jon Hollifield; and 10 grandchildren.Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Hollifield and Ruby Geraldine Hollifield, and a brother, Michael Hollifield. Celebration of Life Services: October 25, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the Beach Club in Port Ludlow, WA.
