James Edward Adams, born June 25, 1936 in Arlington, CA passed away August 30, 2018 with his son, Mark, by his side. He was 82 years old.
In his youth, James’ family relocated from California to Selah, WA where he attended high school. He then joined the US Navy and continued on to spend the bulk of his civilian career as a general foreman and superintendent in the construction industry.
It was through his work that he made his way to Auburn, WA and married his wife, Leah. They planted their roots in Auburn, along with their son, Mark, and called that their forever home for over 50 years. James spent his final year in Olympia, WA after downsizing to an independent living apartment where he could socialize and have resources at his fingertips.
His family was amazed by his sharp mind and the youthful spirit he showed through his later years. He traveled to Portland to visit family, stayed up-to-date on politics, his favorite sports teams and pop culture, and remained current with technology—even setting up his own iPhone and iPad. You could also be assured that he would never, ever show up anywhere late!
James will live on in our hearts and is survived by his son, Mark (Nicole); grandson, Chase; brother Dee Adams (Connie), sister Diana Nolle, and brother-in-law Gary Brummett, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Leah Adams, his sister, Nona Brummett, and his parents Edna and Edgar Adams.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages a donation to the Auburn Valley Humane Society or to a cause that is important to them. James’ life will be celebrated at a private memorial service.
