James G. Taylor, Sr.
After a long and courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia Jim left us on July 3, 2016. He was born on August 1, 1934 in Buffalo, New York and grew up in Bradford, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Penn State University in 1957 and enjoyed a long and successful career as an electrical engineer. Jim retired from Boeing in 1995. He loved retirement and took on new challenges as a volunteer for various nonprofit agencies and received many awards for his work. He also discovered he had a great singing voice and treated us to many recitals where he loved hamming it up. Jim enjoyed participating in many different sports and continued bowling until his late 70’s when Lewy Body put a stop to it. He adored his children and grandkids. There was nothing he enjoyed more than attending their sports games, band concerts, dance recitals and plays. He loved traveling and saw much of the world. His family and friends will always remember his “Jim jokes” which made us laugh because they were so corny. His unique ability to maintain a positive outlook, no matter the circumstances, is a lasting example to us all.
Jim is survived by Lois Mills, his loving wife of 24 years, sons James G. Taylor, Jr (Laura), Mark Taylor (Stephanie), Eric Taylor (Kelly), John Taylor (Shawn) and daughter Lisa Taylor, stepdaughters Teresa Vay (Jack), Cindy Taylor and Tanya Crocker, sisters Susan Durbin and Sharon Taylor (Marty). He is also survived by his former wife and good friend, Nancy Taylor, 21 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine Parker-Taylor.
