Jean K. Hillstrom

Jean K. Hillstrom, 88, of Auburn, passed away on September 16, 2013 in Federal Way, WA. She was born October 26, 1924 in Cavalier, ND, to Henry and Matilda Rickbeil.

After graduating from Cavalier High she met and married Harold M. Hillstrom before coming to Maple Valley, WA. Jean dearly loved family and spent many vacations traveling with her husband to visit extended family as well as hosting many friends and family at their home in Maple Valley. Along with being a wonderful homemaker, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, folk dancing, and camping.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, and eldest son, Marvin. She is survived by her son, Don (Sue) Hillstrom; daughter, Karen (John) Ruscheinsky; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Jaster; grandchildren, Katie(Bob)Baker, Eric Hillstrom, Sarah and Nathan Ruscheinsky and great-granddaughter, Penelope Baker.

There will be a Celebration of Jean’s life on Friday, September 27, 2013 at 2:00 at Wesley Homes-Lea Hill in Auburn, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wesley Homes Foundation-Lea Hill Skilled Nursing Facility.
