Jeannette Marie Burns, a
loving wife and mother, passed
away July 30, 2020 in Auburn,
WA due to cancer. Jeannette
was born August 6, 1937 in
Lincoln, NE. Her family moved
to Allentown in the early 1940’s.
Jeannette grew up there and as
a teen in the summer she would
pick onions in the fields along
the Duwamish River. She graduated from
Foster High School in 1956. Soon after
high school Jeannette married and had
her daughter’s Marcia and Terri.
Jeannette began working at the
Wigwam Dept. Store in the late 1960’s and
remained there til they closed in the early
1980’s. She loved working with people!!!
Jeannette then went to work at Heath
Tecna where she took pride in her work
sanding and preparing airplane parts for
Boeing. She remained there til she retired
in 2000.
If you didn’t know my mom personally
you may know her as the little white haired
lady in the 1970 green Ford
Maverick that cruised around
Auburn. She bought that car in
1970 and drove it til this year.
She was a die-hard Mariners
and Seahawks fan and loved
watching both her favorite
teams play.
Jeannette is survived by
her loving husband, Charles,
her daughter’s Marcia Becker (Bob) of
Colorado and Terri Smith (Rod) of Roy,
WA, her stepdaughters Boo Eklund (David)
of Bothell, WA and Petey Snowfeather
