Joe D. Hodgson, an Auburn, WA resident for 61 years, passed away on Nov. 6, 2019 at the Advanced Post Acute Care in Auburn, WA with loved ones by his side.
He was truly loved and leaves behind his 5 step-daughters & son-in-laws, Cherri (Randy) Simon, Cindy (Tony) Lewis, Bonnie (Bill) Boyer, Connie (Brett) Yount and Bobbi (Jimmy) Berg, as well as 16 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren, brothers & sister-in-laws, Newmon (Susan), John (Sue), Lynn (Cris) and James (Carol).
He was born in De Kalb, Texas, to Lenord Odis and Bertha May Hodgson on April 27, 1930. Joe was the 9th of 13 children.
He was preceded in death by both parents, loving wife Bobbie Ann Kayton, brothers: Odis, Floy, Walter & BC, sisters: Dovey, Vivian, Lula & Ann, and granddaughter, Laura Elizabeth Quintin.
Joe graduated in 1949 from Avery High School in Texas before enlisting into the US Army in 1951. He was stationed at Fort Lewis, WA where he served honorably in the Korean War until 1953. He returned to Texas for a short while, but decided to move back to Washington state and make it his home where he later went to work at the Boeing Commercial Airplane Company as an Electrician. He was employed there from 1969-1992 when he retired.
He loved fishing, traveling and most of all, his family.
Service & placement of his cremains will be held at the Tahoma National Cemetery 18600 SE 240th St., Kent WA 98042 at precisely 1:00pm on December 13, 2019. All who wish to attend are requested to arrive 15 minutes before scheduled service.
On this day we will celebrate a life well lived.
