Karen Marie Flemer was born July 3, 1955 to Tom and Jeannine (Larson) Flemer in Auburn, WA in the Auburn Hospital.
She was a writer, Forest Service worker, and a Senate photographer. Karen skied, snow-shoed, hiked and enjoyed writing about Mt. Rainier. She hiked the Wonderland Trail around Mt. Rainier and the Washington portion of the Pacific Crest Trail. She struggled with early onset Alzheimer’s and passed away September 14, 2017.
Karen is survived by her mother Jeannine, brother Allen, sister Laura Westergard, nephew Travis and niece Heather.
Memorials can be given to the Washington’s National Park Fund or Alzheimer’s Association.
