Leona (Jacobson) Holz
Leona (Jacobson) Holz passed away quietly on October 23, 2014. She was born in 1919 and would have celebrated her 95th birthday on November 9th.
Leona married Gordon Lindsey in 1938 and later gave birth to her first child, Dallas. She divorced two years later and married the “love of her life,” Vernon Holz. Together in Auburn, they raised Dallas, Gary, Ron, and JoAnn. Son Gary was killed in action in Vietnam in 1967 when he was just 23. Vern passed away in 1982 and Leona later married long-time friend, Ralph (Bunny) Jacobson, moving to Arizona and then settling in Morton, Washington. Bunny passed away in 1992. Also preceding her in death were her brother Curt Cavanaugh, son Dallas, grandson Mark Lindsey and granddaughter Cheri Holz.
Leona is survived by her son Ron (Diana) and daughter JoAnn plus grandchildren Barbara, Lisa, Greg, Marty, Michelle and Gary. Great-grandchildren are numerous in addition to four great, great grandchildren.
Leona was active almost up to her passing. She maintained a sharp mind and a quick wit. She was kind and generous, greatly loved and respected by many.
