Born Feb. 1, 1932, Marlene passed peacefully in the early morning hours of Jan. 10, 2022, just shy of her 90th birthday.
She married Jack Jones on Oct. 26, 1950, and lived the life of a dairy farmer’s wife for 45 years.
She was also blessed with 5 children. She is survived by daughter Virginia Leslie (Chuck) of Auburn, daughter Bonnie Jones of Auburn, daughter Kathleen Elliott of Tacoma and son Robert Jones (Kathy) of Puyallup. She lost son Brian at 1 month of age.
Marlene was the proud Grandma of 7 grandchildren, Jaclyn Jones, Shayna Grissom (Justin), Sarah Birkedahl (Brandon), Kathryn Voorhees (Paul), Melissa Tilley (Graham), Lucas Baldwin and Jennifer Elliot. Marlene was also the Great-grandmother to Mikayla, Lillie, Jack, Caroline, Penelope, Justine, Oliver, Mckinley and a 9th baby due in June.
Pictures of her family adorned her home in Auburn. In her younger days Marlene enjoyed taking pictures and had many photo albums to share. She loved to cook and have people over for meals. Gardening, sewing, baking, painting and ceramics were also favorite pastimes. In earlier years she was a member of a local bowling team. In tater years Marlene was a docent for the White River Valley Museum in Auburn.
Marlene was remembered by family and friends at her memorial on Jan. 18, 2022, at Yahn and Son Funeral Home. She was laid to rest next to her husband at Auburn Mountainview Cemetery.
