Mary Tsujikawa passed away January 2, 2022 peacefully at the age of 95. She was born Mary Chihara to first-generation Japanese immigrants on Bainbridge Island, WA, the young- est of eight children. The internment of Japanese-Americans during World War II brought her to the camp at Minidoka War Relocation Camp, where she graduated high school.
She later married Stan Tsujikawa and settled in Auburn where she was a lifelong resident and worked on the family berry farm as well as the Auburn School District for decades. In her retirement, Mary delighted in spoiling her grandchildren, particularly by cooking from closely held personal recipes.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Stan, in 2017. Mary is survived by sons Jay and Brian; daughters-in-law Laurel and Tami; grandchildren Ryan, Marcus (Jessica), Sarah, Shelly, Kendra and Brenna.
