Merle was born in Conrad, Montana to Raleigh & Dena Kooistra Siler. He grew up in South Tacoma & attended Lincoln High School. He enjoyed many occupations and activities. Highlights were his years at Boeing where he worked on the Saturn 5 rocket assembly, lunar rover, and SST prototype. He owned an Auburn service station, sold real estate & drove 18-wheelers for Costco.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Colson; their children James Siler, Debra Siler, Deanna Siler, Stephanie Condon (Tom), Jon Colson (Susan), Michael Siler (DAndra), Todd Siler (Jessica); and many grand and great grandchildren who adored their Grandpa Merle. He is also survived by brothers James Siler, Ron Siler (Joanne), and Michael Baker (Sally). His life will be celebrated on April 9th at 2:00 pm at the Rainier Room above Oddfellas Restaurant in Auburn.
