PATRICIA SUE “PATSY” WARE

March 8, 1945 – April 1, 2019

“When Irish Eyes are Smilin”

Patsy left us to be with her beloved siblings and pets after a long fight due to suffering a stroke last year. Even with all her health issues of late, she still kept her Irish “stiff upper lip,” along with her sense of humor and her zest for life.

Born in 1945 in Puyallup, she grew up in Auburn, and spent her whole life in the Puget Sound area. Graduating from Auburn High School in 1963, she attended Green River Community College before working with Travelodge as Head of Housekeeping for almost 13 years. She worked several odd jobs until she found her dream career as a special needs educator for the Highline school district at Madrona Elementary, which she enjoyed until her retirement in 2008. She greatly loved her students, and they admired and loved her in return.

The great loves of her life were the ocean beaches of Washington and Oregon, her four beloved Basset Hounds, her cats, her local sports teams, and traveling up and down the West coast, with Reno her favorite destination. But her greatest love was her longtime companion and partner, Jim Mason, with whom she was able to enjoy over 21 years doing the things she loved.

She will be greatly missed by many.

She is survived by her partner Jim, her best friends Nita and Ruby, a niece Laurie, a nephew Ron and his wife Sabrina, her grand-nieces and nephews, along with the many, many friends she made and kept close during her 74 years on Earth.

A celebration of her life will be held on May 11, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the River Clubhouse – 3611 “I” Street N.E., Auburn, WA. All are welcome to attend!

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Stroke Foundation at americanstroke.org
