Paul Brian Wohlhueter, loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on May 15, 2022, surrounded by his family.
Paul was born on September 6, 1952, in Tacoma, Washington, the youngest of 3 boys, to Forrest and Virginia Wohlhueter.
Paul grew up in north Auburn and was a part of the Auburn community his entire life.
He enjoyed all sports. He excelled in baseball, football, basketball, and track. In his senior year of high school, he was chosen to play in the Annual Shrine Football game and received Defensive Player of the game award. Paul attended the University of Puget Sound and was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1976. He married Robin (Gaines) Wohlhueter in 1975, and had two children, Bartley and Patrick.
Paul was rich in friends and family who loved him, and he was an upbeat person who always took interest in other people’s lives. An attentive listener, he helped people feel his interest in them. That was what made him a good friend, son, husband, father, grandfather, mentor, and leader. As a leader, Paul patterned excellence and lived his life in love, service and kindness to others.
Paul had a rewarding career in sales and marketing before retiring in 2018. He received many awards and recognitions for his efforts. He also served a term as a commissioner for a local fire district. Beyond his successful career, he loved to watch his kids and grandkids play sports, loved touring stadiums, playing golf, snow skiing, and hiking.
A priority in Paul’s life was travel. Some favorite travel destinations included Mexico, Canada, Jamaica, Hawaii and Scandinavia. He was particularly happy to have recently travelled to Croatia, where he met cousins from his ancestral homeland on the island of Korcula.
