Ralph Scholz, 98 of Auburn died on Sunday, April 15, 2018. Ralph was born, the youngest of 15 in Wausau, WI on December 20, 1919. He was the only of his family to graduate from High School. In 1940 he enlisted in the US Army serving around the world until World War ll ended, returning to the farm in Wisconsin. After one last hard winter he entered Airline School in Kansas City studying to be a radio operator.. After graduation he went to work for Western Airlines in Billings MT. It was there that he met the love of his life Verona Tombrink. They married on May 24, 1952. Shortly after they married they moved to Seattle, finally settling in Auburn in 1963. In 1960 he went to work for the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller, retiring in 1980. Ralph was a long time parishioner of Holy Family Parish. He loved fishing, hunting, camping and Bloody Marys.
Ralph is survived by his three children Ron (Maryelyn) Auburn; Mike (Ericka) Kenmore, Nancy Olsen, Goleta, CA. and three Grandchildren Nicholas (Danna) Scholz, Florence, MT, Madison and Savannah Scholz, Kenmore.
Funeral services will be held at Holy Family Church, 501 17th St SE Auburn on Monday, April 23 at 11am. A vigil service will be the night before at 7pm at Holy Family.
