Richard “Dick” Janssen

Richard “Dick” Janssen, passed away February 18, 2011 in Bonney Lake, Washington. He was born May 26, 1930 in St. Helena, California to Otto and Marion Janssen. He graduated from the Auburn Adventist Academy in 1948. Richard married Verna Stivers on November 6, 1949. Richard was a cabinet maker and worked at Boeing for 15 years. He served on the Auburn City Planning Committee for 8 years. Richard is survived by his wife, Verna; son, Steven Janssen of Auburn, WA; brother, Robert Janssen of Apopka, FL; sister, Glenda Toews of Yucaipa, CA. Richard was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra L. Nelson in 2004. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren: Jennifer Wood, Michael Wood, and Cheyanne Ray. A visitation for Richard will be held Thursday, February 24 from 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Price-Helton Funeral Home, 702 Auburn Way N Auburn, WA. Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 25 at 2:00 PM at Price-Helton Funeral Home with a reception to follow at the Auburn City Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 402 29th Street SE Auburn.
