Sharimae (Rowley) Rossi passed into her new world on July 18, 2023. She suffered from COPD. In May, she turned 91 years, having lived a long and a wonderful life.
Sharimae was married to Al Rossi for the past 64 years. Her immediate family members include daughters Linda Rossi and husband John Ardis and Anita Rossi and husband Kirk Dornan. Also daughters Colleen Patron, and Patricia Allen (deceased).
Sharimae carried her love of her family and the many wonderful friends along the path of her life. She was easy to like as she had an infectious signature smile that expressed her warmth toward people.
During her lifetime, one of her major highlights was being a wonderful team member at the Longacres Race
Track as the receptionist (Director of first Impression) at the Private Turf Club. During the 20 years, she met and enjoyed the connection with some of celebrities that attended the races including John Wayne, Henry Winkler, (the Fonz), Mickey Rooney, Steve Largent,Tim Conway Tom Poston, and many other famous political people.
She was instrumental in picking out the house that she lived in since 1962. It meant the whole world to her. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed the daily activity and made sure our home was surrounded by nature’s beautiful flowers and shrubs.
Sharimae loved to read, listen to the Bee Gees, and meticulously kept all the drawers and cupboards in order and knew the exact places where items were.
Sharimae was well received by Al’s many Italian relatives as she visited Italy many times. She loved the style and culture during the visits. And the relatives there still remark, “una Bella Donna con uno sorriso infettivo” (a beautiful woman with an infectious smile).
Her supportive and caring attitude was a big part of her successful marriage as she also carried this towards her family and friends. Sharimae has left us outwardly, but inwardly, she is with us and always will be.
