Velma (Val) Bain

Longtime Auburn resident, Velma (Val) Bain passed away Friday,

August 29, 2008. She was born July 10, 1914 in Twin Bridges, MT

to Thressa and Virgil Gustin. Val graduated from Twin Bridges High

School and attended Rocky Mountain College in Billings.

After moving to Auburn in the mid 40’s, she had a long, successful

career as a business woman. Knitting, sewing and raising flowers were

favorite pastimes.

Val was the last of her immediate family. One nephew, David Clark,

preceded her in death; she is survived by David’s family, one niece,

Theresa Mackey; two nephews, Gary Gustin and Larry Magone and

all their families.

There will be a celebration of life at her home on Friday, September

5, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Deer Lodge, Montana on Monday,

September 8 at 1:00.
