I would like to respond to Roni Strupat’s letter regarding Dave Reichert’s support of the Zika funding.

You missed the point. You are correct in stating that Democrats defeated the bill, but it was because Republicans had attached riders. One of the riders completely defunded Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood provides medical services to low-income women.

Just look at the statistics from Texas, where death rates for mothers have doubled since the state cut funds from Planned Parenthood.

The real question you should be asking yourself is, are you really proud that Reichert has made a political issue of Zika funding? I am not.
