Before you drink the Kool-Aid ….
I have been watching the Republican Party implode for several years now. Being a Democrat, I really didn’t think that this was necessarily a bad thing.
I remember the GOP of the ’50s, ’60s, even the ’70s and ’80s. Through the years I’ve liked some of the representation that Republicans and Democrats have had and other times, not so much.
I voted for both sides. While neither side has it right all the time, neither does either side have it wrong all the time, but a sense of servility, stability and sensibility usually prevailed.
Things got talked out, voted on and settled. Compromise worked and moved the country forward.
Mr. Sanders and Mr. Trump seem to think that they could just bark out commands and “thy will be done.” Like Congress, that represents all of us, simply will just go along.
Statements of hate, such as those tossed around by Trump, have no place in decent society. So before you take a big ol’ swig of the Trump potion, remember the saying, “Be careful what you wish for, ’cause you might get it.”
The only candidate fully prepared to take over the job as Commander in Chief is Hillary Clinton, warts and all.
