The largest high school drag race on the west coast will once again offer scholarships to Green River Community College as the top prize for racers.

The All High School Drags presented by Green River Community College, the New 94.1 KMPS, and Bracketstars.com will get the green light Friday at Pacific Raceways in Kent.

High school students will race for individual and school trophies along with scholarships to GRCC for the winner and runner-up. The event will also allow Green River’s Auto Technology program to showcase its student-built 1986 Ford Mustang drag race car. The supercharged 5.0-liter Mustang was painted by students in the Auto Body program and the mechanical work was completed by students in the Auto Technology program.

Spectator gates open at 3 p.m. and admission is $12.
