Auburn district grapplers compete at All-SPSL Championship tourney | Prep wrestling

Wrestlers from all three Auburn high schools grabbed placings at the annual All-South Puget Sound League Wrestling Championships, Dec.30-31 at Auburn High School. From Auburn High School, junior Sam Lindsay earned a second-place finish at 195 pounds after losing 5-1 in the title match to Puyallup's Joseph Meyer.

Wrestlers from all three Auburn high schools grabbed placings at the annual All-South Puget Sound League Wrestling Championships, Dec.30-31 at Auburn High School.

From Auburn High School, junior Sam Lindsay earned a second-place finish at 195 pounds after losing 5-1 in the title match to Puyallup’s Joseph Meyer.

Junior Jacob Apodaca also grabbed a runner-up finish after being pinned at the 3 minute, 15 second mark by Fife’s Monike Sarte in the 285-pound title match.

Also placing for the Trojans were junior Mario Luevano – fourth at 220 – and junior Balteer Rana – fourth at 120 pounds.

Auburn Riverside’s Larkin Williams finished third in the 285-pound division.

For Auburn Mountainview, Brahm Trujillo was third at 120 and Dakota Weir was eighth at 285.

Auburn finished 12th in the team competition with 102 points, with Auburn Mountainview placing 18th with 70 points and Auburn Riverside 21st with 54 points.

Tahoma won the team competition with 235.5 points.
