TROJAN SUMMER CAMPS
Camps in BASEBALL and FASTPITCH are scheduled for June 23-27 at the Auburn High School baseball complex. Elementary-age players will meet from 9-11:30 a.m.; and middle school-age players will meet from 1-3:30 p.m. The cost is $115, and includes a T-shirt. Early registration is encouraged. GRAND SLAM CAMPS
These camps are for players ages 6-12, and are staffed by local high school coaches and current college players who teach fundamentals in a fun, upbeat environment. 4SLAM ARENA TOURNAMENT
This tournament is open to men and women of all ages. It is scheduled for June 27-29 at the South Sound Athletics gym, 2450 S. 142nd St. in SeaTac. This modified full-court game is 4-on-4 with 8-foot hoops for junior and women, 9-foot hoops for men, 2-, 3- and 4-point lines, points for fouls, a continuous clock, a no-dribble zone, no free throws, and four points for dunks. AUBURN MOUNTAINVIEW CAMP
This camp for boys and girls who will be entering grades 1-8 in the fall is scheduled for June 30-July 3 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. each day in the main gym at Auburn Mountainview High. The focus will be on improving and developing fundamental skills. The cost is $60, and $40 for siblings. AUBURN TROJAN CAMP
This camp for boys and girls who will be entering grades 3-9 will take place July 21-24 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. each day at Auburn High School. The cost is $85 for early registration, and $95 for registration on the first day of camp. The cost includes a T-shirt and a basketball. These camps in FASTPITCH and BASEBALL, conducted by Auburn High School and Evergreen State Sports, will offer three one-week sessions: July 20-24 (fundamentals for ages 8-14), July 27-31 (advanced fundamentals for ages 15-18) and Aug. 3-7 (fundamentals for ages 8-14). The focus will be on speed training, footwork, and position-specific drills, with instruction from the Auburn Riverside coaching staff and players. KARNEY’S 44 KIDS CAMP
This one-day non-contact camp for boys and girls ages 7-14 is scheduled for Saturday, June 28, from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at French Field on the Kent-Meridian High School campus. The cost is $75 per camper, and includes lunch, water and a camp T-shirt. Campers should wear T-shirts and shorts, and tennis shoes or rubber cleats only. No previous football experience is required. Instructors will be a group of NFL players, including former Kentwood High star and current New Orleans Saints fullback Mike Karney, as well as local high school and junior high coaches. AUSUM AT MOUNTAINVIEW
The Auburn Sumner Tennis League at Auburn Mountainview High School (28900 124th Ave. S.E.) is open to boys and girls ages 8-18. Classes begin June 30 and run Tuesday through Friday until July 24. Times are 8:30 a.m. for advanced players, 10 a.m. for intermediates, 11 a.m. for advanced beginners, and noon for beginners. The cost is $85 for beginners, and $95 for all others, and includes a T-shirt, 12 hours of instruction, match play, play days with other area teams, and a chance to compete in an end-of-season tournament.
